Horrifying: Miami Missionaries’ Kidnappers Threaten to Kill Them – If They Don’t Return Within 24 Hours

The terrifying situation of three American missionaries recently kidnapped in Haiti by a gang is not improving.

On Thursday, the Group Safety Institute released a video message from Philippe Guerrier, a member of the political party the Kondens party, The Guardian reported.

“I order my armed gang to kill you Americans very soon. These three evangelists are members of the Party of the Republic. They work to destroy democracy. Without [the Haitian government] the good things will not be possible in this country. They are against our representative president,” Guerrier said.

The video came two days after Vice President Mike Pence issued a statement in which he demanded the kidnappers return the missionaries to their families in America immediately.

“We call on the kidnappers to release them immediately, bring the perpetrators to justice, and release all hostages so that they may return home to their families in America as soon as possible,” Pence said.

Chris Beseler, a local missionary and a manager for the Christian mission group, which includes members of 10 different Baptist groups in the United States, told the Guardian the video “is pretty much the last thing they can do.”

The kidnapping has taken a toll on the missionaries, who were flown out of Haiti the day before World Vision issued a statement that a ransom would not be paid.

“We are all hopeful we will all return home and our prayers are with all of those touched by this tragic event,” said Missy Spratt, director of mobilization at International Healing Hands, which was working with the group in Haiti.
