Newsweek magazine has compiled an alarming report that the Trump administration and other politicians from around the world are using grants provided by the U.S. Agency for International Development to help their governments push back against LGBTQ rights.
For instance, Ghana is investigating the activities of a US-based organization called the International Values Network that has allegedly supported widespread homophobia.

Earlier this month, the Ghanaian government shut down the group’s web site, and is reportedly seeking to shut down its operations in the country.
The International Values Network gained international attention in 2017 when it proposed to run a public information campaign in Russia to pass out fliers that promoted “traditional gender norms.”
The International Values Network provides support and advice to a range of organizations around the world, many of which have been accused of espousing extreme and anti-LGBTQ views.
